Monument Shutter's wood shutters are manufactured using only the highest quality woods. The wood is kiln-dried, making it less prone to warpage and shrinkage and more resistant to temperature extremes.

Pine wood is more susceptible to gradual rot in coastal and high moisture areas. If you do live in one of these areas, we recommend Cedar as a more suitable option. Be sure to seal and paint on an annual basis for the longest life. We do not recommend Pine shutters for functional use because they are light duty. If you decide to use them with hinges, we recommend you use 3 hinges on shutters taller than 45”.
